Boeing 737 engine cowl on a Southwest Airways aircraft rips off

A Southwest Airways jet returned to Denver Sunday morning after the engine cowl fell off and struck the wing flap throughout takeoff, in line with the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Boeing 737 landed safely, and the passengers headed to Houston have been being put onto one other plane, Southwest Airways stated in an announcement.

“We apologize for the inconvenience of their delay, however place our highest precedence on final Security for our Prospects and Staff. Our Upkeep groups are reviewing the plane,” the assertion reads.

It’s the second mishap this week for the airline, with a flight from Texas canceled Thursday after a report of an engine fireplace. The Lubbock, Texas, fireplace division confirmed on-line a fireplace in one of many two engines that wanted extinguishing.

The FAA is investigating each incidents.
