The Wall Avenue Journal reported in April that the Justice Division would conduct a “prison investigation into consulting agency McKinsey associated to its previous function in advising a few of the nation’s largest opioid producers on tips on how to increase gross sales.”
In accordance with the WSJ report, “McKinsey consultants suggested the corporate [Purdue] on tips on how to improve gross sales of its flagship drug, together with suggesting that Purdue’s gross sales crew make extra calls to healthcare suppliers it knew wrote excessive volumes of OxyContin prescriptions and spend much less time on docs who prescribed the opioid medicine the least, the information confirmed.” Oxy
Think about that. McKinsey allegedly tried to assist Purdue tailor its gross sales efforts to docs who already prescribed oral opioid medication. There’s nothing mysterious or nefarious about this.
